silent visitors resting in sun-streaked patches watch me watching them. Deer are a frequent sight around my house and neighborhood, but they typically are walking past, grazing along the way. They are my friends when in the backyard beyond our gate, sometimes travelling in groups as large as eight. I welcome them here in the woods but not so much when they wander into my front yard and buffet on my flowers and plants. These three I spied this morning while out filling my bird feeders. Forgive the blurry photos but I chose to capture them from afar so as not to disturb their rest.

We see deer here, too. They amaze me with their beauty, but annoy me when they eat the flowers.

Ok, what the heck happened to my written paragraph following the haiku? I’ve seen this run-on text in two other posts today. Is it Monday because it sure feels like it! My apologies for this quirk.

I know they can be destructive, but I appreciate the pictures, We never see then here. We’re too closely packed in.

I have soooo many, and even ones of them ‘at the buffet’! Stinkers…
