Did you know the wooden pencil was invented by Massachusetts cabinet-maker William Monroe in 1812? Red Cedar and then Incense-Cedar are the woods mostly used for the pencil as we know it today. So interesting to learn the brief history and love the photo – I don’t have a favorite pencil right now – but for a little while I enjoyed the mechanical ones
